Who are Po2 workshops for?

Couples' discontents come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you're just looking to smooth out a few bumps or you've already begun contemplating divorce, Power of Two provides a set of resources to fit your particular situation.

That's why we encourage couples to start off with our Free Relationship Consultation. By talking with one of our marriage specialists, we can help you decide which workshops would be the best fit for you and if you should consider accompanying your workshops with some individualized sessions with a private therapist.

Power of Two understands that becoming a great spouse is a journey that takes work. There's no magic pill to become a world class athlete. Success takes effort and practice. At Power of Two we can teach you the skills for success and guide you through the process of building a world class marriage.

Engaged or recently married?

Congratulations! Did you know couples who take a pre-marriage course are more likely to stay happy and to stay together? Your relationship is great now... so now's the time to learn the skills so your love stays strong as you deal with whatever life sends your way. As you plan your wedding, make time to prepare for your marriage!

Having a baby?

Lots to do! Have you prepared your marriage for all of the additional complexity of an infant? When the baby comes you'll be making lots of decision under pressure without much sleep. Perhaps this is why, while a happy event, adding a baby also is a proven stress point on marriages. The research is clear on another point too. The best gift you can give your child is a calm, supportive, loving home.

Mostly happily married?

Is mostly really the goal? Many couples are surprised by how hard being married really is. Our workshops teach the skills to help you smooth out the rough edges in your relationship. Invest in your relationship... it's what matters most.

Sustaining a cooperative marriage partnership requires high-level skills. No matter how much two people love each other and how well-matched they may be, the project of living life as a married couple can be challenging. Difficult shared decisions, stresses, and frustrated concerns in a marriage can gradually corrode a couple's initial love and allow marriage problems to grow.

Marriage researchers have demonstrated that without sufficient communication and conflict resolution skills, couples end up bickering, fighting or giving up to keep the peace. These deficient strategies can lead to anger, depression, and anxiety. Marriage doesn't have to be like that.

Be proactive! Take the Power of Two Marriage Skills Workshop and learn the skills to make your marriage succeed.

Is your marriage falling apart?

Are you and your partner drifting apart? Talking about divorce? Has there been infidelity? Sometimes couples are in a place where they need immediate help getting through a particularly rough spot.

For couples whose marriages are at risk, we often recommend a multi-tiered program including workshops and private therapy to help address the immediate crisis, to learn skills and to practice using them in a safe, calm, supportive environment.

We recommend all couples start Power of Two by signing up for our Free Relationship Consultation. Our trained marriage specialists can help you determine the right combination of services to help your marriage thrive.

Single? Dating?

Don't be shy... Power of Two workshops are for you too! We teach skills that you can master alone and that will serve you well while dating and with your parents, co-workers and friends.

Perhaps you've just come out of a failed relationship and want to pro-actively prepare yourself for a more healthy relationship in the future. Or perhaps you are a self-aware person who has realized that you're not having as much luck meeting the partner of your dreams because you're not as good a communicator as you'd like to be. This workshop can

  • help you learn to constructively engage others in dialogue
  • help you build confidence in your ability to effectively communicate your own needs to others

Let us know if you have any questions.
